You got into the entertainment industry at a very young age. Can you share with us the moment that you truly knew this was the life path and career for you?

I was still living in Houston, TX and I had an audition for a big movie role shooting in LA. An entertainment lawyer out of LA was helping with my acting career. He sent me the audition and said I needed it to be turned in the next day. I remembered those lines with no hesitation and got creative with shooting the audition. In the moment of putting this together and accomplishing it I knew this was my passion! I felt complete and satisfied with my career choice in this moment.

You’ve acted along side some of the most notable actors of our lifetime. Congratulations on all of your success so far. What have been some of the most memorable moments in your career?

Thank you. Working on ’35 and Ticking’. I acted with successful actors Kevin Hart, Kim Whitley, Tamela Jones, Nicole Ari Parker, and Mari Morrow in a scene. I was able to hold my own amongst them. I felt a lot of my hard work was starting to payoff. And the scene was amazing!!!

If you were to teach a acting class, what 5 actors would you tell your students to study?

Angela Bassett, Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington and Leonardo DiCaprio.

What are some of your latest projects and what are you currently working on?

I have a short film “Footprints” currently in Film Festivals and showing on July 23rd at LA Shorts International Film Festival. I’m shopping it as a TV series. Also, I am rebooting my non profit ‘KIDS LOVE AND HEALTH’ teaching kids to eat healthily.

What keeps you motivated to continue your career?

My passion and showing my daughters to never give up until you obtain your goals.

What was the best advice you have ever received?

Do the work! Don’t focus on anything else and success will eventually come.

What impact do you want to make over the course of your career?

I want to inspire women to never give up and if you can dream it you can achieve it!

Any exclusive news you would like to share with us?

I am currently writing a self-help book for guidance when going through divorce.

How can we keep up to date on social media?

@mechellemccain across all platforms.
