Breakout country artist and Belmont University student Garrison Nunn releases his debut album Feather in the Wind, available now on all streaming platforms.
Feather in the Wind captures Garrison’s journey of searching for direction and meaning while juggling pharmacy school, faith, and a growing music career. Written over the past four years, the album reflects a season of self-discovery and restlessness. A time when he felt like “a feather in the wind,” drifting from one chapter to the next, nostalgic for the past yet uncertain of his place in the present. Through honest storytelling and emotional depth, Garrison turns that uncertainty into a portrait of resilience and growth.

“I wrote this album over the past 3–4 years while trying to figure out where I fit in the world. I was in pharmacy school working towards my doctorate, trying to build a music career, and wrestling with faith and self-worth,” Garrison shares. “I felt like a feather in the wind — drifting from milestone to milestone, being over-nostalgic about the past, never really grounded in the present.”
With Garrison writing on every track and co-producing the album alongside Stephen Ray at Saxman Studios, Feather in the Wind stands as a genuine reflection of his life — honest, unfiltered, and deeply personal. The focus track, “Got Me Here,” captures life’s low points while celebrating the grit and determination that carried him through to where he is today. At the heart of the album, “Almost Nearly There” offers a tender reminder to slow down and savor the small moments that make life meaningful, while “Full Throttle” closes the record by exploring the push and pull between chasing new dreams and longing for the comfort of the past.
Drawing influence from Parker McCollum, Koe Wetzel, Colter Wall, Taylor Swift, and Radiohead, Feather in the Wind highlights Garrison’s ability to blend roots authenticity with modern introspection. His music — shaped by heartbreak, burnout, and relentless drive — reveals a depth well beyond his years. The previously released single “Take Me Away” earned high praise from Country Central, further propelling his rising status. On stage, Garrison has already made his mark, performing alongside Slade Coulter and William Beckmann, and taking the main stage at Big as Texas Festival 2024 and Whiskey Jam 2023.
From small-town roots to the heart of Nashville, Feather in the Wind captures Garrison’s fearless pursuit of purpose, passion, and authentic storytelling — a debut that announces the arrival of a powerful new voice in country music.
