As a nonprofit founder, author, and actress, how do you balance your career, personal life, and mental health?
Kathi: I am very organized. I prioritize projects. I keep a calendar so that I can stay on point. I know how to step away and relax. I take time for myself.

Storytelling is such a powerful art form for an actress and author. What kind of stories are you most passionate about portraying and writing about?
Kathi: I am interested in stories about the human condition. I love reading about people who have overcome obstacles that could have shut them down. Human beings are resilient. Their stories give us hope.
Please tell us about your latest book and any books you are working on.
Kathi: My latest book was a compilation with other authors. It is entitled Daily Dose of Declarations A 365 Day Journey to Help You Declare Positive Affirmations Over Your Life. It encourages people to stay the course. The book is very encouraging. I’m currently working on a book about marriage. Marriage takes a lot of work; I want to interview couples to find out their secret to a happy and long marriage.
How do you find auditions and roles?
Kathi: I find auditions on various acting sites. I have a subscription to Actors Access. It works well for me. In addition, I receive roles from directors that I have worked with in the past.
If you could work with any actor who would it be and why?
Kathi: I would love to work with Viola Davis. She is one of the few actors who has an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. Her journey wasn’t easy but she is at the pinnacle of her profession. I would take that opportunity to observe and retain the acting skills that she has to improve my acting skills.
Where will we see you next on film or on stage?
Kathi: My next movie is Heart Of Wallace. It should be out this summer.
What is a super fun fact about yourself that many people are not aware of?
Kathi: I enjoy skydiving. It is exciting! I love the feeling of anticipation before the jump and the feeling of serenity once the parachute opens and I am gliding on air. It is an amazing experience.
Any shoutouts you would like to give to those who have been huge supporters throughout your career?
Kathi: The biggest shout out goes to my amazing family. They support me 100%. They are always at movie premiers to cheer me on, they set up my equipment, they help me with my lines, they film my self-tapes, and they have driven me to auditions. They offer suggestions. Most of all they are always there for me. They believe in me.
