TIRELESSLY CREATIVE

Entrepreneur Craig L. Trumbo Also Explores the Fields of Production and Screenwriting

Entrepreneur, producer, and screenwriter Craig L. Trumbo was born on September 22nd in Des Moines, Iowa. Sooooo Entertainment is the filming side of his business. Fairy Dust Inked is the Screenwriting side. Green Zone is the veterans side. Then She's A Q. D is the high-fashion designing side of the business.

“I'm totally about entrepreneurship and making things better. Besides that, my passion is creating.

What motivated you to become a producer and a screenwriter?

To be honest, I had no idea what a screenwriter was until someone explained it to me. I was writing an article about veterans and someone approached me about trying screenwriting. Break the eraser off and just write, mistakes and all.

I'm currently still a student of New York Film Essentials; I haven't graduated yet. I love creating, so screenwriting is right up my alley. There are technicalities that I still have to figure out, such as formatting.

As for producing, I love putting things together. I'm a total project person. I love being involved in making things work. I love being in charge of anything. I'm a person that loves to see what is going on and how things work.

What are some of the projects that you are currently working on?

I am currently working on three scripts. One is called Born by the River. It started out as a novel; now I'm turning it into a script. My second script is called She Planet. This is a fictional story about a journey, not a destination. How would you know when you reached your destination before you actually arrive? Well, that's what She Planet is all about.

My third script Is called Demiem 3.16 chapter 9. This one is pretty interesting. It sounds like it's about God, but it's not. It's about events and numbers, like the Book of Numbers. It’s about how the bad turned into the good and the good turned into the worst. You may not believe me, but this script actually writes itself.

Is there a particular story that you would like to produce?

Absolutely, my script titled Born by the River. I would totally love to produce and direct my own script. The other two, I wouldn't mind selling to a well-known producer.

What have been some of your challenges working as a screenwriter and a producer?

My biggest challenge is getting hands-on training. A huge obstacle was the word how! How do I get my foot in the door, without any experience? How do you get into an industry without connections or something finished? How do you sell to producers who know nothing about you or your experience?

What's your dream, your ultimate goal? Do you feel like you're on the path to this goal, or do you feel as if you already achieved that dream?

My dream is to produce and direct my own script about my life. My ultimate goal is to sell a couple of scripts to well-known producers. I know I haven't achieved my ultimate dream.

However, I do believe I'm on the right path. Now, I understand this path can zig-zag at any given moment. What I mean by the right path is that I believe I'm surrounded by the right people I need in my life, as far as the entertainment business goes.

I'm a huge believer in sticking with positive people, those who push you beyond your limits and constructive criticism.

What is your message for our Heart Of Hollywood Magazine readers?

Think of the word P. U. S. H. Push Until Something Happens. Let nobody take you off your game plan. Keep the ambition.

I always said that if you can change a room, then you can change a county. If you can change a county, then you can change a state. You better believe you can change the universe.

I never would have imagined that by now I would be this far in my life. One thing I’ve discovered is that sometimes you have to unlearn what you have learned, and learn something different. In other words, if you want to do something you’ve never done, you need to do something you’ve never done before.

I just keep speaking things into existence, keep reaching. There’s a lot of trial and error. I ask questions and I seek answers until I get the right one.

I'm most humbled to be mentioned in Heart Of Hollywood Magazine. This is one of the most amazing birthday gifts I've had so far.
