Congratulations on your successful music industry career as a Producer, Writer, Engineer, and Solo Artist. You recently released your single “Love Is All We Need”. Can we expect more singles, and albums soon? Please tell us about your goals for the future.

Thank you!! Yes, you can expect more music and everything else. As an artist, it’s important to keep pushing the envelope in your career. Different interests and ventures in fashion, music, of course, content creation and business are all in the works as we speak. As a goal, building the “Kenny J.” brand is my priority. Everything centered around positive vibes.

What challenges have you navigated and overcome while pursuing your career?

One of the biggest challenges for me is working a lot and not taking time off. Most will not call it a challenge but for me it is. I get so involved in the love of music I pretty much continue and not stop. To overcome this if I need to get away I still bring my little mini studio and create ..lol.. Although it’s my career it’s still my passion.

How would you describe your work ethic?

I would definitely describe my work ethic as nonstop and tedious. Whatever I do, it HAS to be right.

July was National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. How do you manage your mental health and work-life balance?

Well first mental health is something we should discuss every day. I manage my mental health by not shying away from issues that may come. I seek wise counsel and I’m honest with myself. Although work-life has its challenges that can be tamed to be benefits, not traumas.

What have been some of your best self-care practices?

Look good all the time. Never deny yourself the best you. It’s your best attribute.

What is your favorite song that you have written and why?

I have a lot but one that sticks out more is “Love Is All We Need”. It’s a song that speaks to the world. It’s not any culture, person, religion, or gender that doesn’t want to receive love. We all need it!!!

With our current climate, why do you think supporting music artists is important more than ever?

To me, music artists have always controlled the ambiance of our listening world. In my opinion, it’s important we support them especially if their vibe helps push the agenda positively.
