Author Mary Louise Scott’s Most Recent Book Is Inspired by Real Life
Mary Louise Scott is a published author. Her current book, A Forbidden Love Affair, was written under the name Mary Louise Edwards and published by Austin Macauley Publishers, USA.
“It’s available online everywhere. The rest of my work will be published under my new name. I’m currently working on my third book, as my next book will be released next year. It’s called Straight from the Heart.I write romance drama stories. I’ve also written short movie scripts and have screenplays in the works,” she says.
What inspired you to write this book?
That’s an interesting question. I was inspired several years ago by an old friend who was actually involved with someone at the time. He was married and found himself very lonely, claiming that his wife never had time for him. Well, you had to be there, and I thought it would make for a great story.
Can you tell me about the book?
Craig has found himself once again falling in love with someone other than his wife. He had known Heather for many years and worked with her on many occasions. Craig was the assistant coach for the Notre Dame football team, whereas Heather was a sportscaster and interviewed all the coaches and players every game season. Craig's wife was a high-profile attorney and was always busy, it seemed, and never had time to be with him. Craig began to see Heather in a different way and later found himself wanting to know her more and be with her as much as he could..
Was the main character inspired by a real person?
Yes.

Where do you get your ideas?
They mostly just come to me out of nowhere sometimes. There will be times and moments when I’m getting ready to go to bed and ideas and visions start popping up.
What is your writing process like?
I usually write out my ideas, notes, and such on paper first. Usually I’ll start out writing everything out by hand and then transferring it to the laptop. It’s very hard for me to write during the day. I’m more creative at night and I have to listen to certain music while I’m writing.
What advice do you have for writers?
I would say that the most important thing is to never give up. Allow yourself to be creative and think outside of the box. Always channel the negative into the positive by continuing to write. Don’t get too discouraged when you hit roadblocks; it happens. Take that time to decompress and allow your mind to rest.
Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between books?
Yes, every book stands on its own. I’m not one for writing serials or trilogies and such.
