The Met Gala, the most important red carpet event, takes place every first Monday of May in the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. However, due to the pandemic, the dates have been moved, and this year we will see it happened until the first Monday of September. Throughout the different themes the Met has had, we've been able to see the most daring and revolutionary looks; this is the place where both stars and designers make the best with their looks. So, because today we are feeling a little bit nostalgic, we are bringing you our all-time favorite looks from the legendary Gala.

10. Gigi Hadid: Camp 2019
The theme was camp, and there were only a few guests who completely understood what this meant. The supermodel Gigi was one of them, looking like a total dream in this Michael Kors gown. Channeling an ice queen with an all-white outfit, she stole the looks from everyone on the red carpet. Micael Kors himself said that the outfit gave him "If Cher, Elton, Bowie, and Liberace had a dinner party at Daisy Buchanan's" vibes , and we couldn't agree more.

9. Beyonce: China, Through the Looking Glass 2015
It's no secret that we all love Queen B, and when it comes to her owning the red carpet, we are never disappointed. In 2015, she showed up in a sheer style gown made by Givenchy. The see-through dress covered in crystals made her look like the queen she is; we wish we could see her more often in this gala. Sorry Kim K, but Beyonce owns the sheer dress style!

8. Princess Diana: 1996
With a simple yet exquisite Dior gown, Princess Diana made her first and only appearance at the Met Gala back in 1996, just a few months after her divorce from Prince Charles. She decided to use this gorgeous gown with lingerie details, making the press and fans obsess over this look.

7. Billy Porter: Camp 2019
When you're invited to a gala in which the central theme is camp, which means, over the top, we expect you to do an over-the-top outfit or entrance. So Mr. Billy Porter decided to do just that. Arriving at the Met gala like an Egyptian king, carried around in a litter by six shirtless men dress up in a golden outfit with wings made by Nicolas Putvinski, it's safe to say that our jaws were dropped.

6. Zendaya: Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination 2018
At this point, we know that no fashion list will be completed without Miss Zendaya, who never lets us down when it comes to giving us the best red carpet looks. In 2018 Zendaya chose to dress like Joan of Arch with a custom Versace gown that blew our minds. To this day, we believe this has been her best Met Gala gown and one of the best ensembles she's ever worn.

5. Claire Danes: Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology 2016
The theme of 2016 was all about fashion and technology, we got to see some epic looks on this year's red carpet, but nothing wowed more than Claire Danes' glow-in-the-dark Zac Posen gown. At first, this beautiful dress reminds us of Cinderella, and it turned out to be our favorite of the year.

4. Chadwick Boseman: Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination 2018
For the 2018 theme, the man who understood the theme the most was Mr. Chadwick Boseman, who chose to appear on the red carpet in an all-white suit with a cape by Versace with golden details that went perfectly with the theme of the night. It turns out the King of Wakanda was also the King of red carpets.

3. Rihanna: Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination 2018
Queen Riri has had many incredible outfits throughout the years, and during the 2018 Met Gala, she chose to dress just like the pope in a stunning gown made by Margiela. The gown encrusted with crystals and pearls made her look like the Queen she is.

2. Blake Lively: Heavenly Bodies, Fashion and the Catholic Imagination 2018
It seems like many of our favorite looks came out from this specific year and theme, but can you blame us? This year's Met Gala was an absolute dream for all fashion fans out there, so as our number two, we have the gorgeous actress Blake Lively, who, like many, completely understood the assignment and showed up in this custom-made Versace gown and completely shut down the red carpet. This breathtaking dress took about 600 hours to make, and it was all worth it when we saw it for the first time.

And before revealing who is our number one choice, we would like to ask you to leave us a comment down below what you think of this article and who your favorite Met Gala look of all time, and tell us, did we miss anyone?
Lady Gaga: Camp 2019
The entrance, the gown, the makeup, everything Lady Gaga did for this year's Met went perfectly with the theme, starting by making a 16-minute entrance in a Brandon Maxwell pink gown, showing us that not only she is an incredible performer on-stage but also off-stage. The dress began to disappear throughout the red carpet and ultimately became a two-piece bustier gown; she even told Vogue, “I know intrinsically that I have a camp soul," and wow! did she proved it. After making this list, one thing is for sure, we cannot wait for the Met Gala to return, and we cannot wait for September to see what iconic outfits the next event will bring. This year's theme will be "American Fashion" ; I guess we just have to wait and see.
