Hosted by Stephen Colbert, Set For Friday, October 27, 2023 At The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, NJ

Montclair Film, New Jersey’s leading film non-profit, announced that The Montclair Film Festival will present its 2023 Filmmaker Tribute to Martin Scorsese with Stephen Colbert hosting Mr. Scorsese on stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in downtown Newark, NJ on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 8:00 PM. The pair will sit down for an unforgettable evening of conversation celebrating Mr. Scorsese’s legendary career as one of the cinema’s greatest filmmakers.

Martin Scorsese is an Academy Award-winning Director and one of the most influential filmmakers working today. In 2007, his film THE DEPARTED won an Academy Award for Best Director and Best Picture. Scorsese also directed THE WOLF OF WALL STREET and THE IRISHMAN, which both received Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Picture. His latest feature, KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON made its World Premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide on October 20, 2023 before streaming globally on Apple TV+.

Tickets for the Filmmaker Tribute to Martin Scorsese hosted by Stephen Colbert go on sale Wednesday, September 13 at 10:00 AM to Montclair Film Members. American Express members and NJPAC donors will receive pre-sale access on Thursday, September 14 at 10:00 AM, with public ticket sales beginning on Saturday, September 16 at 10:00 AM. All proceeds from this special evening will benefit Montclair Film, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization that hosts the annual Montclair Film Festival (MFF), owns and operates Montclair’s six-screen art house cinema The Clairidge, and provides year-round film education, storytelling, and community programs throughout New Jersey that serve tens of thousands of patrons each year.

Stephen Colbert hosts the Emmy and Peabody Award winning, #1 show in late night “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” From 2005 to 2014, he hosted “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central, following his seven years as a correspondent on “The Daily Show.” “The Report” received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, five Emmy Awards, and thirty-seven total Emmy Nominations. Colbert took over as host of “The Late Show” on September 8, 2015.

In addition to “The Late Show,” Colbert previously served as Executive Producer on the Comedy Central series, “Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out The News,” “Hell of a Week with Charlamagne tha God,” and SHOWTIME’s “Our Cartoon President.” He is also an Executive Producer of “Derek DelGaudio's In & Of Itself,” streaming on Hulu.

In 2021, Colbert’s Spartina Industries banner set a three-year first-look deal to develop television and streaming content for CBS Studios. Spartina’s first project was the sports-comedy special “Pickled,” a celebrity pickleball tournament benefiting Comic Relief for CBS Primetime. Spartina is next slated to produce the CBS 12:30am hour with their partners at Funny or Die.

Colbert has also authored five books, the most recent of which, Whose Boat Is This Boat?, reached #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List. All proceeds from the book benefited the victims of Hurricane Florence and Michael, and most recently, COVID-19 relief.

Tammy Reese began her career as a theater actress performing in 60 live stage shows a year with The Media Unit TV and Stage Production Company. She also directed the weekly live TV show Rough Times Live.

Eventually, she went to Empire State College to obtain her degree in media studies. After graduation, she did more theater and wrote and produced her own videos to spread awareness on social issues through the arts.
