Can you tell us about your journey to success and the key moments or decisions that shaped your career?

I was a professional dancer who suffered from multiple injuries. I thought I would have to be in pain forever and age prematurely. However, I recovered from all my injuries after being introduced to a unique Ergonomic Strength Training protocol created by International Body Designer Stephen Hercy, also known as Dr Fitness USA. At 63 years of age, I am now stronger and feeling and looking better than ever before. I made a career transition and founded the Body Design Formula company with Stephen Hercy, whom I married.

What motivates and inspires you to continue pushing boundaries and achieving new heights in your field?

I'm motivated by the opportunity to impact my own life and the lives of others positively. My vision is to achieve a healthier lifestyle for everyone. I believe that we all have the potential to be healthy, strong, and vibrant, regardless of age, provided we are given adequate tools and education to do so; my mission is to equip people with the knowledge and resources to increase their strength physically, emotionally, and mentally. Seeing a success rate of 100% for the results of my efforts is a source of motivation and inspires me to continue pushing boundaries and achieving new heights in health wellness.

As an influential figure, what values or principles do you strive to embody and promote in your work and personal life?

Integrity, respect, humility, gratitude, creativity, initiative, and discipline are essential values to promote in my career and personal life. Leading by example and demonstrating these behaviors is the best way to inspire others and create positive change. Additionally, I stay open to others’ ideas and develop an understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds. Finally, I strive for excellence and make the most of every opportunity.

How do you handle challenges and setbacks, and what advice do you have for others facing similar obstacles?

First, It's important to recognize that challenges and setbacks are part of life. It is essential to remain calm and take a step back to assess the situation without becoming reactive while maintaining a positive attitude and focusing on the progress that you have already made rather than feeling defeated. It is also helpful to get creative, think outside the box for solutions, and seek advice from a mentor or a trusted advisor who has faced similar challenges. Remain flexible and adaptable to any changes while allowing yourself to make mistakes. Maintaining self-confidence and perseverance is a secret weapon that helps me overcome challenging times. I also use positive affirmations and meditation to tap into my inner wisdom, grow from setbacks, and use the experience to learn and develop as a person.

In your opinion, what are the most important qualities or skills that aspiring individuals should cultivate to make a lasting impact in their industry?

Leadership: To lead effectively, you must first be able to lead yourself. This includes setting a personal example, having a good attitude, and knowing your strengths and weaknesses. You must be reliable and trustworthy, focused on the goal yet willing to be flexible and adjust if necessary. Be on time and show up prepared so you respect others' time.

Resilience: Maintain a positive attitude and keep going even when things are tough or you fail. Believe in your ability to overcome any obstacles that come your way. Resilience will also help you learn from mistakes to better prepare for future challenges and grow.

Learn to work smarter, not harder: This idiom means that you should strive to be efficient and practical rather than work hard or for longer hours. This could involve breaking tasks down into manageable chunks, delegating work, automating processes, and strategizing to find the best method for the given task. It also means practicing self-care and avoiding burnout, so rest and recharge are priorities.

Can you share any memorable experiences or encounters that have profoundly influenced your perspective on life and work?

My sister was diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was 20 years old, I was 16. It completely shattered my life. She went from being a beautiful dancer and my best friend to spending the rest of her life in mental institutions. This set me on a lifelong journey to finding mental health answers and solutions. She passed away a couple of years ago, having lost a lifelong battle to shock treatment and medication.

The second most impactful event was when my dance studio caught on fire, and everything I had worked for was destroyed. I lost everything. I realized how important it is not to take the little things in life for granted. I remember feeling a profound sense of loss and sadness after the fire, but it also made me appreciate all the blessings I had in my life. This has influenced my perspective on life and work by allowing me to recognize that I have many skills and life experiences to impact the world positively and not be afraid to take risks and venture out of my comfort zone.

How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance, and what practices or rituals help you stay grounded amidst your demanding schedule?

Self-care is my priority in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Strength Training: My first go-to activity to stay grounded, strong, and healthy. It is a priority I adhere to 3 to 4 times a week, rain or shine.

Meditation: I practice Hsin Tao, an ancient form of meditation practiced in the Shaolin temple.

Write: I write about topics I care about to inspire others and remind myself of what matters.

Sauna, massages, nail salon, hair salon, teeth cleaning, all of these are part of my self-care rituals.

I maintain a healthy diet and take high-quality supplements to help me recover from intense workouts and stress. they provide all the necessary nutrients and enable me to wake up refreshed after a good night's rest.

Sleep: I try to sleep 7 to 8 hours a night, and I love taking catnaps.

Cooking: I love creating healthy recipes, cutting fruits and vegetables, and smelling the aromas of fresh herbs from my herb garden.

Spending time in nature, caring for my plants, or walking by the ocean allows me to step away from my busy work life, reconnect with my inner self, and seek solace.

Many people look up to you as a role model or source of inspiration. How do you embrace this responsibility, and what message would you like to share with those who admire your work?

I take great pride in being an example for others. Giving the cards I've been dealt with in life makes me understand that it is my responsibility to help people achieve their full potential and become whole physically, mentally, and emotionally with my acquired knowledge and experiences. I am so grateful for how far I've come.

When opportunities come your way, don't hesitate to say yes, even if you feel overwhelmed or underqualified. Don't try to do everything alone. Getting a mentor can save you time, money, and energy and potentially make the difference between success and failure. Understand that the teacher appears when the student is ready, but the teacher does not always look like what you imagine or expect.

Also, to be an effective leader and source of inspiration, it's essential to be humble and respectful and strive to be the best version of yourself. My parents were both in the performing arts industry, and they taught me to respect the stage and the audience. When you are a leader, the world is your stage, and you need to be an example in all areas of your life, including your health, appearance, and ethics.

We all have the power to impact the world positively. At the end of the day, we all have only two choices: Find a solution or find an excuse.

I love interdisciplinary cooperation. Collaborating with people with different skills, experiences, and perspectives is invaluable for any project. I recently received my WOSB certification, Women-Owned Small Business, by SBA, enabling me to bid on federal government contracts. I have now submitted applications for city, county, and state certifications, allowing me to expand into new markets and provide corporate health and wellness programs at a larger scale.
