HELPING OTHERS NAVIGATE A DIFFICULT WORLD

New Spanish-Language Book from Ismael Cala, the ‘Latino Larry King’

International Heart Of Hollywood Magazine readers have been requesting book recommendations in Spanish, and there is a new release they might find interesting. It is authored by Ismael Cala, who has been an anchor and producer for CNN en Español and has over 20 years of broadcasting experience in Cuba, Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The New York Times once described him as the “Latino Larry King”.

Cuban-born Cala is a tireless proponent of corporate happiness, has worked with teachers such as Deepak Chopra and trained with Tony Robbins, Joe Dispenza, Don Miguel Ruiz, and other coaches. He has authored several books, the newest of which is Fluir para no sufrir, which basically translates to “Flowing in order not to suffer”.

Available in print, as an e-book, or as a nine-hour-long audiobook, Fluir para no sufrir acknowledges that everyone, regardless of their situation in life, yearns to feel happy and fulfilled. The book invites the reader to reflect on the perils of selfishness, greed, and apathy.

Cala draws upon the work of psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihaly, who asserts that flow is a mental state in which external stimuli, including time itself, seem to disappear.

The author describes eleven principles he trusts are worth developing: integrity, spirituality, serene strength, flexibility, versatility, passion, collaboration, exponentiality, resilience, consciousness-elevation, and gratitude. Through simple but powerful activities, the book helps the reader build a foundation based on these principles, experience the state of flow, and move toward a more joyful life, even in these trying times.

Fluir para no sufrir is hot off the presses and published by Aguilar.
