Haunted Hollywood: A Halloween Weekend Walk Through the City's Spookiest History
By staff writer,

Every city has ghost stories. Hollywood has ghost stories with star billing. This Halloween weekend, step beyond the parties and explore the landmarks where the city's legends linger.
Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Founded in 1899, Hollywood Forever is the final resting place of Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks, Cecil B. DeMille, Judy Garland, Jayne Mansfield, Mickey Rooney, Johnny Ramone and Chris Cornell, among many others, as reported by the Beverly Press. Karie Bible, the cemetery's tour guide since 2002, leads guided walks through the grounds; tours are $35. https://hollywoodforever.com · Tours: https://www.cemeterytour.com
The Hollywood Museum: Dungeon of Doom
The Hollywood Museum's Dungeon of Doom gathers screen-used horror pieces from films including It, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Annabelle. Its highlight, according to PBS SoCal, is Hannibal Lecter's jail cell from The Silence of the Lambs, relocated to the museum with its cellblock. https://www.thehollywoodmuseum.com
The Museum of Death
For those with strong stomachs, Hollywood's Museum of Death offers an unflinching look at mortality and the macabre. It is not for the faint of heart. https://hollywoodpartnership.com/go/museum-of-death-hollywood

Ghost Hunting in Chinatown
The Haunt Ghost Tours lead groups through historic Chinatown after dark with EMF detectors and other paranormal gear, mixing ghost hunting with the neighborhood's history, according to Discover Los Angeles. https://thehauntghosttours.com/los-angeles/
A Drink With the Spirits
End the evening downtown at Clifton's Republic, which Discover Los Angeles lists among the city's haunted bars: workers restoring the building reported encounters with the ghost of a Jazz Age woman devoted to founder Clifford Clinton. https://www.cliftonsla.com
From all of us at Heart of Hollywood Magazine, happy Halloween, and thank you for spending October with us. Hours, tours and prices may change, so please confirm on each official website before you go.
