Few cities take their scares as seriously as Los Angeles. With two weeks left in the Halloween season, here is a guide to the region's major haunted attractions and how to choose yours. All of them run on select nights only, so check each calendar before you go.

Universal Studios Hollywood's after-hours Halloween event runs on select nights from September 3 through November 1, according to Theme Park Insider. https://www.universalstudioshollywood.com

For the Traditionalist: Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

In Griffith Park at 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, the Haunted Hayride runs on select nights from September 18 through November 1. Alongside the hayride are the Fallen Angel maze, Elvira's Trick or Treat Mayhem, the Scary-Go-Round and a new Madame Aurora Séance Theater, with themed bars for guests 21 and over, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. Tickets start at $34.99. https://www.lahauntedhayride.com

For the Thrill Seeker: Fright Fest

Six Flags Magic Mountain pairs its roller coasters with mazes themed to The Conjuring, Final Destination and Trick 'r Treat, plus a new werewolf maze, Wolves' Blood, on select nights from September 18 through November 1. For the Theatregoer: Delusion

Delusion's immersive production, Den of the Mosquito, returns to the Beckett Mansion in West Adams, where the company began, on select nights through November 8. Set in 1920s New Orleans, the 50-minute show is for guests 18 and over, and tickets are $143 including fees, as reported by Haunted Attraction Network. Several Saturdays have already sold out. https://www.delusionla.com

How to Plan

Buy tickets online in advance, especially for weekends close to Halloween. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and check each attraction's age recommendations before bringing children. Event details, times and prices are set by each organizer and may change, so please confirm on the official website before you go.
