Exclusive Interview with ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol’ Cast: Eriq Ebouaney and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi Discuss Fallou, Laurent, and Daryl’s Journey in France

In the highly anticipated second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol, fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) return to captivate audiences once more. Premiering Sunday, September 29 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+, this six-episode season will take viewers deeper into the world of post-apocalyptic France, where both familiar and new faces must navigate the chaos. I had the chance to speak with Eriq Ebouaney (Fallou) and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi (Laurent) about their roles, Daryl’s relationships, and the challenges their characters face as they journey through the apocalypse.

Louis Puech Scigliuzzi as Laurent in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol

Tammy: Congratulations, Eriq and Louis! I absolutely love The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol.

Daryl is still in France but clearly misses his loved ones back home. How do your characters feel about him staying in France at this time?

Louis: I feel like Daryl does miss his people back at home— he’s homesick —but he’s created a safe environment for himself here in France. There is a bit of doubt about does Daryl really want to go back to his home or does he just stay in France.

Eriq: He made new friends and new bonds with Isabelle, Laurent and Fallou, but the thing is, Daryl wants to go back home because that’s his mission. I think Fallou is conscious of that, and wants to help him find his way back home.

Tammy: Eriq, how would you describe the relationship between Fallou and Daryl?

Eriq: Like two brothers because there’s a trust between them. Daryl knows that Fallou is going to do his best to help him and he knows that Fallou is going to shepherd and protect Laurent at the same time.

My character, Fallou, is the leader of a group called Union of Hope. So for me, I hope for Daryl to go back home, I hope to succeed the mission. I hope to find peace in this hard time.

Tammy: Louis, Laurent is a fascinating character. What do you think are Laurent’s greatest struggles in the zombie apocalypse?

Louis: I think he doesn’t really bond with other kids and that’s really something that he misses in his life. In the first season, Laurent sees all those kids and is kind of put apart from their friendship. That really has an impact on him. His biggest struggle is communicating with other kids his age.

Tammy: What does Laurent hope for himself and Isabelle as the story progresses?

Louis: I think the most important thing is for them is to be safe, to be away from all of the danger and the mess that Genet has created. Sometimes they’re on the run, or under attack, it’s constant pressure for them. Laurent would like to stay somewhere and just relax for a little bit.

Tammy: Eriq, as a story concludes, will your character be looked at as a peacemaker, a fighter, or something more complex?

Eriq: My character is a warrior and is the leader of a group of warriors. Being surrounded by all those guys and the energy and the spirit of Laurent, of the nuns and of Daryl, makes Fallou change and soften a little bit. Instead of him only thinking of fighting and struggling, Fallou brings back more empathy and maybe, love.

Tammy: Louis, what are some key lessons Laurent has learned from Daryl so far?

Louis: Wow, that’s a hard one. I think it’s to be strong and try to stand up for what you think is right in every situation possible. Even though it’s a fighting scene where zombies try to attack him, or even if it’s just a conversation of someone just being against him. Also, if he wants to believe in something, he should be able to express it.

In conclusion, I must say, after watching The Book of Carol, I can see why fans are eagerly anticipating this season. Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride continue to display a beloved onscreeen chemistry. The relationship between Daryl and Carol is as compelling as ever. I can assure viewers that many lingering questions, especially around Carol’s cryptic messages to Daryl, will be addressed. Eriq and Louis bring something truly special to the screen. The storylines surrounding the looming battle for France’s future and Genet, portrayed by Anne Charrier will have you on the edge of your seat and make for a thrilling ride.  As for the finale cliffhanger, you can't always get what you want. Thank you for a season three!

I had a fantastic personal statement created by personalstatementwriter personal writer. No one seems to care that my background has impacted who I am now, despite the fact that it has. Mastering the art of persuasion by precise expression has been a lifelong pursuit of mine. Its high quality construction and many personalization options piqued my interest, and I considered making a purchase. I sent in my personal statement to begin the application process after reviewing all of the required documentation. It shows courage to seek for assistance when you need it while writing your personal statement.
