Eight-Episode Docuseries From Front Office Sports Studios, Skydance Sports, and NFL Films Takes Fans Inside The Heart Pounding Comebacks and Gut-Wrenching Collapses of Some Of The Most Iconic Games Ever Played
VICE TV, home of VICE Sports, announced the new 8-episode docuseries “Don’t Call it a Comeback,” which dives into the most memorable, come-from-behind victories in sports history. Hosted by Noah Eagle, and co-produced by Front Office Sports Studios and Skydance Sports in association with NFL Films, the series delivers never-before-heard eyewitness accounts of the drama that unfolded from the players, coaches, super fans and journalists who were there. “Don’t Call It a Comeback” premieres Tuesday, January 6 at 9 PM ET/PT and airs weekly through February 24.
“We’re proud to partner with Front Office Sports Studios and Skydance Sports to give fans the opportunity to relive some of the greatest comebacks in sports history,” said VICE TV President Peter Gaffney. “This series captures the idea that the thrill of a comeback victory is really only understood if you also get to experience the agony of the other team’s incomprehensible defeat and delivers the unique voices and perspectives sports fans come to VICE TV for.”
From NFL playoff games, an MLB American League Championship Series, College Football’s Rose Bowl and the NCAA Final Four, the biggest games create the biggest drama. Rallying back against impossible deficits delivers more than just a victory to one team — it also leaves the other side wondering how they were able to snatch a loss from the jaws of a sure victory. “Don’t Call it a Comeback” showcases some of the biggest names that played in these legendary matchups, including Andrew Luck, Amani Toomer, Shane Battier, Trevor Lawrence, Doug Pederson, Sam Darnold, Curtis Martin, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Josh Beckett, as well as super fans, including Fireman Ed and Bills Elvis, John Lang.
“Nothing in sports hits like a great comeback,” said Eagle. “When everything says it’s over, but something human says it’s not — those are the moments that stay with us. This series is about that edge, where legends are born, and games become memories that last.”
“Don’t Call It A Comeback” Episodes include:
The 2000 “Monday Night Miracle,” Jets over Dolphins game featuring contributors including Jets running back Curtis Martin, WWE legend and Jets fan Mick Foley, ESPN NY & Mad Dog Sports Radio host Jake Asman and legendary super fan, Fireman Ed;
The 1993 AFC Wild Card Game where Bills prevailed over the Oilers, featuring Bills wide receiver Don Beebe;
The 2003 NFC Wild Card Game, aka “The Candlestick Comeback,” where the 49ers overcame the Giants, featuring 49ers kicker Jeff Chandler, quarterback Jeff Garcia and head coach Steve Mariucci;
The 2013 AFC Wild Card Game where the Colts prevailed over the Chiefs, featuring legendary Colts QB Andrew Luck;
The 2022 AFC Wild Card Game where the Jaguars won against the Chargers, featuring Coach Doug Pederson;

The 2001 NCAA Final Four which saw Duke storm back to overcome Maryland and advance to the national championship, featuring Duke captain and All-American Shane Battier;
The 2017 Rose Bowl game where USC won against Penn State in a back-and-forth thriller deemed one of the greatest Rose Bowl games ever, featuring Penn State linebacker Jason Cabinda and USC wide receiver Darreus Rogers.
