Kevin Craig West, Seen in Law & Order - Organized Crime and Oscar -Nominated Film Don’t Look Up, Discusses New Projects

Actor, producer, director, and writer Kevin Craig West, who grew up in the Arbor Hill section of Albany, New York, has been seen portraying Terrance Bryant on NBC’s hit series Law & Order- Organized Crime, starring Christopher Meloni and Danielle Mone’ Truitt.
He recently appeared in an episode of NBC series New Amsterdam, on CBS series FBI: Most Wanted, and in Netflix’s Oscar-nominated film Don’t Look Up, starring Meryl Streep and a host of other stars. Look for Kevin in a couple of Apple TV+ projects screening later this year.
West has received multiple nominations for Best Actor for his starring role in The Way Forward, which won Best Feature Film at the 2021 World Independent Cinema Awards in London. He also received an Actor of the Year nomination from the 2021 International Christian Film and Music Festival.
As a filmmaker, Kevin Craig West’s award-winning and controversially titled short film, I Hate Being Black, was acquired by Indieflix and is playing on Magic Johnson’s AspireTV.
Tell me a little about yourself.
I am a CREATIVE.
When did you decide that you wanted to become an actor?
While watching the musical Big River at New York State Theatre Institute, I had the vision of being an actor on that stage. I had only acted in one performance of anything prior to this epiphany. Months later, I was part of their program and performed in their whole season.
Who are your biggest influences?
Father Time and The Grim Reaper.
What is your strength as an actor?
I think my superpower, as well as my kryptonite, is the fact that I am an empath.
How difficult is it to establish yourself in the film industry?
I believe with most things it’s a matter of perspective, and essentially what one deems “established”.
What’s your dream, your ultimate goal? Do you feel like you’re on the path to this goal, or do you feel as if you already achieved that dream?
Ultimately I would love to have my experiences continually inspiring and supporting generations of future dreamers. I feel I’m on the path.
