The Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, held on February 24, 2024, recognized the best in movies and TV. Oppenheimer was the big winner, receiving the top prize. The film was additionally recognized for its Outstanding Cast, and stars Robert Downey Jr. and Cillian Murphy were also recipients of individual awards. Lily Gladstone was recognized for her Lead Role in Killers of the Flower Moon, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, for her Supporting Role in The Holdovers.
As to TV, Succession, The Bear, The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown), Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Steven Yeun (Beef), and Ali Wong (Beef) were all winners.
Much-revered actress Barbra Streisand accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award.
After the ceremony, attendees and viewers flocked to various afterparties in the Los Angeles area, such as the Awards Lounge hosted at the newly-renovated W Hotel in Hollywood.
Actress Chiara, host of Amazon’s Italian Dream-Villas & Castles was among the guests, as was actress, producer and dating coach Natalie Stavola. Ballerina Fabiana Zedeno, who is a UNESCO Culture Ambassador and a former NFL dancer, graced the red carpet. So did actor, director, producer, and adventure travel expert Andi Sweeney Blanco, known for her documentary series The Fixers. Adrian Gabriel Falcone, actor, fitness enthusiast, and man about town was also in attendance.
Official Fashion Week designer Melissa Pellone showed up in a stunning gown from her own collection. Jonathan Deal, a UK entrepreneur and fashion maven, was in town for the party as well.
Publisher and CEO Giovanna Salas and magazine editor Sandy Rodriguez were at the event. The fun, glamorous evening was made possible by Maestro, SocialMixLA, and Xquisite Affairs.
This year’s awards season has been very special, since it marks the end of a series of challenges, including covid closures and a lengthy strike, which shook the entertainment industry. The talented guests at the afterparty not only celebrated the actual SAG Awards ceremony, but also the fact that the future once again looks promising.
