Hermosa Beach, California — The Gallery of Hermosa (GOH) is set to come alive on Saturday, October 18th, from 5 to 9 p.m., with the opening reception of Rocktober, a bold and imaginative group exhibition that unites over 40 local and national artists under one electrifying theme — what it means to “rock.”
From painters and illustrators to photographers, sculptors, and mixed-media creators, the participating artists bring a dynamic range of voices and visual languages to the show. Rocktober delves deep into the multifaceted concept of “rock”: some artists channel the rebellious, soul-stirring essence of rock music, while others draw inspiration from the earth’s geological power or explore “rock” as a metaphor for strength, endurance, and transformation.
Curated and guest-juried by John Geldbach of DDR Projects, a respected curator and gallerist based in Long Beach, Rocktober promises a collection as diverse in medium as it is in meaning. Adding to the evening’s energy, Mike Longacre of Mike’s Guitar Parlor in Hermosa Beach will make a special appearance, bringing authentic rock-and-roll spirit to the celebration.
The Rocktober opening reception invites guests to experience an evening of creativity, community, and connection — a perfect fusion of visual art and cultural rhythm set against the backdrop of Southern California’s vibrant art scene.
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 18th | 5–9 p.m.Location: Gallery of Hermosa, 138 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach, CAExhibit Runs Through: Sunday, November 9th
