Humanitarian and Los Angeles businesswoman Karen Michelle, in conjunction with CEO/Founder Laura Sharpe of “Artists for Trauma,” just wrapped their spectacular All Inclusive “Love your Body” fashion extravaganza at the beautiful Luxe Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Brentwood on March 26th. Over 1,000 guests participated in this inspirational and heartwarming, artistic event that is now in its tenth year.

Love your Body and Artists for Trauma honor and celebrate girls and women of all shapes, backgrounds and abilities.
This year the event celebrated women in the medical world with the Karen Michelle Heart Award. 2023’s recipients were:
Dr. Andrea Feinberg, who specializes in internal medicine and pulmonary and critical care; Dr. Genise Fraiman, founder and physician of Ascending Medicine; and Dr. Hengamah Monsef, internist of Ascending Medicine.

Yearly, the beautiful “Humanitarian Heart Award” is presented to a person or organization that strives to make the world a better place for all. Embraces common moral decencies such as altruism, integrity, freedom, justice, honesty, truthfulness, responsibility, and compassion - Respecting and embraces human diversity -Improves the lives of those in need through selfless, courageous, creative, and compassionate acts. Congratulations to all three recipients of the 2023 “Karen Michelle Heart Award!”
Without a doubt, all the guests and doctors present would unanimously agree that the true superstars of this event were the many women and girls present, this was their day to shine, and shine they all did! With the help of a dozen established and up and coming fashion designers, along with makeup artists who flew in from around the country, 132 women and children got their chance to be on the red carpet amidst flashing lights and uplifting music, before the cameras of many great photographers including Getty Images.

Spending a beautiful day surrounded by love for one another is awe inspiring. To admire and be able to purchase artwork from those who have worked so hard to overcome so much is indeed special. This unique event had it all, wonderful food, incredible shopping , talent and flair. Karen Michelle and Laura Sharpe’s goal has always been to lead the way in female empowering events. Given the size of the standing room only crowd and their enthusiastic response, Love your Body and Artists For Trauma’s mission was accomplished!
