Non-Profit organizations that need your support right now

Check out these three amazing nonprofit organizations that not only are doing fantastic work but could also need help in keeping their services afloat. Sadly, these causes are usually under-appreciated and underrated, and with the current health and economic climate, it’s even more crucial for more people to help. As a society, we need to start caring about each other, and hopefully, you can find it in your hearts to donate to these fundamental causes.

1. Julia's fight against Cancer (Neuroblastoma)

Julia is a 3-year-old girl who had a life as any other child until a few months ago. After feeling a little sick and being diagnosed with Dengue fever, the doctor later revealed that her symptoms were Cancer. Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, to be exact. This cancer originates above the kidney, in the adrenal gland, and practically her whole body was invaded (skull, bone marrow, and bones). The hospital stays, procedures, and essential care she has had to endure have not come cheap. Her family is now seeking help.

Here Julia tells us what our donations could accomplish, “I have an infinite desire to live, my case has already been exposed to specialists in Europe, and fortunately, I am a candidate to receive immunotherapy. I am not only asking for your support for me and my recovery, but I also do it with the intention of setting precedents in Mexico about the importance of Neuroblastoma and, above all, to bring Immunotherapy to our country. This, so if it happens to another child, there can be protocols for intervention in Mexico that are more affordable. Please help me, I really want to move forward, and I need your help.”

2. India Development Relief Fund

The IDRF works in India and Nepal’s poor communities to support programs that improve education, health care, women’s empowerment, governance, and eco-friendly livelihoods. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka by empowering marginalized people with skills, services, and infrastructure grounded in sustainable development.

At the moment, they are doing a fundraiser to provide healthy and balanced meals and supplements to 600 severely malnourished children (2-6 years of age) in 10 remote hilly villages of Arunachal Pradesh, India. Also, the medical team makes the parents aware of the advantages of consuming grains, vegetables, and fruits at home in order to improve their children's health. For the sustenance of the program, the team is being encouraged to use locally available produce to prepare nutritious meals. IDRF-supported mobile medical clinics conduct regular health awareness camps to monitor the changes in the children. I urge you to check their official web page https://www.idrf.org and their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/IDRFUSA/ to see the work they’ve been doing.

3. Vitamin Angels

Vitamin Angels is a global public health nutrition organization delivering life-changing vitamins to at-risk women and children in the U.S. and around the world. They provide nutritional support across the critical window of a child's development: MMMS Prenatal Multivitamins, breastfeeding, vitamin A, and deworming. With COVID-19, the organization has faced unprecedented challenges. That doesn’t mean they are giving up. “As an organization dedicated to protecting the health of nutritionally vulnerable pregnant women and children, Vitamin Angels created the Healthy Futures Initiative to allow us to continue to adapt and respond to not only the immediate effects but the long-term impacts of this crisis.” And we can continue to support and help them reach their goal.
