By Tammy Reese

Jose Miguel Clark-Hilery has dedicated eighteen years to mastering the craft of makeup artistry, blending his diverse background and rich experiences into a unique style that sets him apart. His passion for creativity was evident from a young age, as he indulged in painting and artistic endeavors both in and out of school. His journey into the artistic world deepened in high school, where he participated in theatre, and later in the fashion industry. A pivotal moment came during a Jean-Paul Gaultier fashion show in 1993, while he was attending the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) as a fashion design major in New York. The dazzling creativity of the makeup artist backstage inspired him to pursue a career in makeup artistry.

Jose’s professional journey began in Tampa, Florida, where he honed his skills by experimenting with theatrical makeup on himself. His bold and innovative style quickly garnered attention, leading to a 20-year tenure in retail with renowned brands such as M.A.C. Cosmetics and NARS Cosmetics. As a trainer with these brands, Jose developed his expertise in various domains including skincare, cosmetic application, special effects, airbrush techniques, and beauty education. His reputation for excellence made him a sought-after professional, specializing in weddings, graduations, editorial photo shoots, music videos, and more.
