One of the most glamorous author events of the year was held in early November.
Guests had the chance to mix and mingle with award-winning sci-fi/fantasy writer S.G. Blaise, inspiring and humorous thought leader Jane Enright, spiritual mentor Sarah Vie, and motion picture and TV veteran Rocky Lang.
All four authors were at the Conrad Los Angeles hotel for an evening of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and books. Located across the street from the Walt Disney Concert Hall and echoing Frank Gehry’s striking contemporary architecture, the Conrad welcomed readers eager to learn more about the four featured authors.
S.G., creator of The Last Lumenian Series, impressed the audience with her strong presence; she is clearly a master of her craft. Sexy, stunning Sarah discussed her book, I Wish I’d Known, a guide for those ready to go on a journey toward wealth, love, and happiness. Jane, a stylish and genuinely warm woman from Canada, talked about her own book, Butter Side Up, in which she describes how she came out ahead after losing almost everything. Rocky delighted guests with Letters from Hollywood, a collection of correspondence between some of the most notable film industry names of all time.
The fabulous Jane Ubell-Meyer was the force behind this unique event. She is the founder of Bedside Reading, a company which places books by the bedsides in luxury hotels.
Jane also developed a unique “book to screen” program through which stories might be discovered by producers. She been attending major film festivals since 1985. Her favorites include Cannes, Sundance, Santa Barbara, Tribeca, Telluride, and the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Wordsmith Glen Olson, who writes on topics as diverse as polyamory and interstellar war; screenwriter Laura Harrington, Heart Of Hollywood CEO Giovanna Salas, and Heart Of Hollywood Magazine editor Sandy Rodriguez were among the Conrad event attendees.
The stylish crowd, mainly encompassing publishers, entertainment industry experts, and book lovers, swarmed S.G., Sarah, Jane, and Rocky. Many guests took home signed copies of books by these authors, and everyone took home lasting memories of this exciting evening.
