Gallery of Hermosa Showcases Fine Art Just Steps Away from the Beach

Located mere steps away from the sand and surf, Gallery of Hermosa is quickly becoming one of Southern California’s most fun and exciting cultural destinations. Located on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach, California, the gallery is more than just a place to view art. It’s a working studio, a community hub, and a space where creativity truly thrives.

Founded by Kimie Joe, a former chemical engineer turned artist, the gallery grew out of her passion for art and community. When she opened the gallery, she had a mission in mind. She wished to offer an inviting, accessible space for artists to showcase their work and for visitors to discover original pieces from local, national, and international talent.

The GOH’s rotating exhibitions keep the venue fresh and dynamic. Visitors will always be able to discover something new. Not only paintings are featured; photography, ceramics, or other types of work might be on display at any given time.

An example of a recent invitational group show was Five Muses, highlighting works by five artists, Fumie Coello, Debbie Giese, Jen Hellman, Eileen Oda, and Anabella Rainer. Featuring both painting and photography, the exhibit celebrated the sparks of inspiration that drive artistic expression.

Another show was Infinite Possibilities, encompassing a large collection of 8” x 8” paintings donated by a wide circle of artists, ranging from up-and-coming to fully established. Contributors included Giovanna Salas, publisher and CEO of Heart of Hollywood Magazine; Gilda Baum-Lappe, the magazine’s editorial advisor, and Sandy Rodriguez, the editor.

Opening receptions, workshops, private viewings, and other special events at the GOH create extraordinary levels of community engagement. The gallery is a lively meeting ground for art lovers and neighbors alike.
