THE INSPIRING PATH MODEL AND ACTRESS IRMA BULAITYTE HAS TAKEN
Irma Bulaityte, originally from Lithuania, is now a successful, 6-foot-tall model and actress. Her first job, however, was picking tomatoes on the Isle of Wight.
“This is an island of the South Coast of England, one of the most beautiful places to live in the UK. I enjoyed this job because I like to be physically active and it suited me perfectly well. I made so many friends living on the Isle of Wight and was pleasantly surprised by their kindness. I felt I was having the best time of my life, I felt like I was living in paradise,” she recalls.
Irma eventually moved and has been living in London since 2003. It was difficult for her to get used to a city that never sleeps, but she knew she would find many opportunities there.
“Glory came unexpectedly when one of my friends offered me the chance to participate in a photoshoot, which was quite successful. I then had a great opportunity to participate in the London Fashion Week. A lot of famous designers had come together and were looking for models with different looks. I was one of the lucky ones to be selected,” says Irma. “I really love the modeling world; it relaxes me, takes me away from everyday life and allows me to meet new, inspiring people.”
A spending some time in the modeling industry, Irma chose to explore acting.
“I signed up with several film agencies in London and was pleasantly surprised at how many of them wanted to represent me. I was lucky, I was able to film movies in Bollywood and Hollywood as a supporting background actress. I also did several TV commercials and music videos. My face was selected to be published on the covers on e-magazines and an e-book. My life story, titled The Success Of Lithuanian Woman met with interest from foreign publication, and articles about it have already appeared in Turkish and even Dubai newspapers. Just recently I was announced as a President of the International Foundation Of Women, Greater London. Life is full of surprises,” she states.
If Irma encounters challenges, she accepts them as lessons, but she describes herself as a very ambitious person, always seeking to achieve something better.
“I look forward to more opportunities that allow me to experience new places, meet new people and set a positive example for others,” says the model and actress, who can be found on Facebook as Irma Bulaityte.
Irma actually started her modeling career at an age where many models are already established, yet she was able to become quite successful.
“At some point, I had dreamed of modeling and entering beauty contests, yet when I was working in farming, my goal was to study Agriculture Commercial Business. That plan changed when I realized that this was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Until I was 29, I had never been involved with any modeling agencies, but I decided to participate in one of the London Fashion Weeks just for the experience. I enjoyed the show and being on the catwalk. I then decided to make my dream come true through my hard work and my positive attitude, even though I was in nearly my 30s,”
Irma explains. “Anything is possible; we just need to work hard and truly want to achieve our set goals.”
Irma also had the chance to participate in beauty contests, which had been one of her wishes.
“Again, just for the experience, I entered a beauty pageant called Ms Galaxy UK. I’m proud to say that I made the top 10 finals without any previous modeling experience. I also entered Ms Classic Empress and I won “heat finals.” The reason I’m so interested in this career is because learning something new about fashion and meeting such inspiring people is so productive for me. Sharing my knowledge and experience makes me very happy, because I know that this will help young girls move one step closer to their dream of becoming models, which reminds me of myself at younger age. I don’t want to talk about the long-term future, since I have learned to set one goal, achieve it, and only then move to the next one. Right now, I’m focused on my modeling work and looking for new opportunities,” says Irma.
The model, who believes one shouldn’t be afraid to expect miracles or to live life as one deserves, finds her inspiration in a variety of people and things.
“Many industry leaders inspire me, but I would have to say that my greatest inspiration comes from my mother, who always taught me to stay focused and goal-oriented, no matter what obstacles may come my way,” she ays. “To anyone starting out, I would recommend learning something new every day, believing in yourself, dreaming big, and treating others the way you want to be treated.”
