“Shut Down”: a timeless melody.

Updated: Jun 17, 2021

“Shut Down” by writer, producer, and singer Lisa Panagos starts with a charming and slow beginning that transforms into a soft ballad about the hardships of love. The song is bittersweet, and its lyrics relatable to anyone who’s ever been in a romantic relationship. The melody carries you through the heartache, but it balances itself with the beautiful vocals of Panagos. The bridge shines on with an enchanting guitar solo that accompanies the song all the way through the end, giving it a very classic touch. “Shut Down” has that sound that makes for a timeless song that will never go out of style.

Shut Down Backstory

“Not everyone has a great Valentine’s Day. Sometimes you are disappointed and have nothing to talk about. Sometimes your partner shuts down and just doesn’t communicate. Hell, sometimes I don’t communicate and my partner may be confused.

With or without a partner, we have crushes too. We want to tell someone how we feel. We just want to communicate whether it is to our friend, wife, husband, lover, or crush. It all comes from a place of love and full of the heartwarming feeling that is Valentine’s day.

This song, ‘Shut Down’ is a dark but positive reflection on love. Sometimes we might be able to love again. Sometimes we won’t. I’m just telling the truth from my perspective and how I feel towards one or multiple people in my life. Leave the rest to your imagination. IMAGINE!” Lisa Panagos

How about me

Don’t you care about how I feel

Trying' hard to do it right

All we do is fight, hey what about me

And how about us

Don’t you want to work this out

Well if you do, you know it takes two

And I’m tired of these lonely nights

When you’re runnin’ around with your crowd

I’m chillin’ I’m fine, til’ you bring me down

With no words, you shut me out

Just when you’re pulling me close you shut down

I’m tired of being second

To all of your so-called friends

There in the middle of the night

Just there for the “party” friend

Well they don’t see the hard times

When you’re rocking in my arms

Too strung out to sleep

Past memories messin’ with your mind

When you’re runnin’ around with your crowd

I’m chillin’ I’m fine, til’ you bring me down

With no words, you shut me out

Just when you’re pulling me close you shut down

Quit shutting me out

All we do is fight

Quit shutting me out

Quit bringing us down

Quit shutting me out

When you’re runnin’ around with your crowd

I’m chillin’ I’m fine til’ you bring me down

With no words, you shut me out

Just when you’re pulling me close you shut down

Guitar solo

When you’re runnin’ around with your crowd

I’m chillin’ I’m fine til’ you bring me down

With no words, you shut me out

Just when you’re pulling me close you shut down

Quit shutting me out
