Ms. Angel Monét Empowers Children's Self-Esteem Through Original Soulful Music

By Tammy Reese

Hello, Heart of Hollywood Magazine readers! Though Women’s History Month has come to a close, we continue to celebrate women in entertainment and business that have made their mark and continue to make a huge impact in the lives of others, especially in the lives of the youth.

Today we bring to you Ms. Angel Monét, Host of the Ms. Angel Monét Show which is a children’s variety show that promotes self-esteem, singing, movement, and storytelling through fun uplifting motivational music. This show came about from Ms. Angel Monét seeing the need for more kids' programming promoting positive role models emphasizing family values, self-care, and self-esteem to encourage good mental health.

Happy belated Women’s History Month! What does this time mean for you and how did you celebrate it?

Thank you! Women’s History Month is an important time for all women to reflect on the contributions and struggles of women throughout history. My company Inét Productions celebrated Women’s History Month with our live virtual children’s “edutainment” show “The Ms. Angel Monét Show” featuring original and soulful music that boosts kids' self-esteem! Brave, Bold Beautiful, Women’s History Influencers took place on March 29th and viewers can access the replay through our on-demand classroom bundle by visiting our website InetProductionsInc.com.

We would love to hear about any upcoming projects that you are working on this month. What can you tell us about it?

We’re excited to promote our new on-demand classroom video series, The Ms. Angel Monét Show. The show provides engaging, educational, and soulful original music to build the self-esteem of toddlers and preschool and kindergarten-aged children. Teachers, daycare providers, homeschool parents, and children’s church leaders rave about our shows because of the way they light up the eyes and smiles of their little ones.

I’m also preparing to officially release my single, “Hold On” in late April, and will be continuing the work of mental health awareness to bring light to the struggles of minority youth in inner cities.

When you think of music, what comes to mind?

When I think of music what comes to mind are the feelings and healing that music evokes in our spirit. I’m so passionate about the work I’ve done for nearly 30 years because of the joy and excitement I’m able to witness in the families that tune in.

Who are some women in the music industry that inspire you and why?

In our recent Women’s History Month live virtual show, we celebrated women of color who have made a huge impact in music and history. We paid tribute to greats like Poet, Actress, and Author Maya Angelou, South African singer-songwriter Miriam Makeba, and freedom fighter Harriet Tubman.

What have been some of the proudest moments in your music career?

Some of the work I’m most proud of include my tenure as an instructor for Berklee City Music’s Piano and Voice programs at my alma mater Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. Also, I’m honored to be the Founder of HOI Network Internet Radio Station and Creator of the “House of Inspiration Show”, where we love recognizing influential members of our community. As a songwriter, performer, vocalist, pianist, and playwright, I’m most proud of my creation, “Jack’s World”, a musical filled with inspirational messages of Love, Family, and Self-Esteem. I was honored to receive an iParenting Media Award for the Jack’s World” soundtrack and was a featured opening act for the famous “Univer-Soul Circus.”

When you first created Inét Productions, Inc. what was the main goal, and has the mission changed since? What is the mission now?

When I first created my brand the main goal was to specialize in the development of instrumental, vocal, and performance skills for youth and adults, and we’ve remained true to that mission. My mission has evolved to provide a multicultural and uplifting music curriculum with resources that teach children the fundamentals of music and addresses the needs of music in early childhood education.

You have a track record of improving the self-esteem of early childhood youth by providing virtual entertainment to daycares, schools, and homeschool parents. How does this inspirational career make an impact on you personally?

The biggest way my career impacts me is the fulfillment I receive from watching children thrive through our original music, because it helps bring them joy, instills confidence and respect for themselves and others, and helps their motor skills and learning ability.

What else would you like for our readers to know about you and the work that you do?

It’s never too late to do what you love and walk in your purpose. I’m so grateful for the opportunity God has given me to create change and touch hearts internationally with inspiring motivational programming spreading peace, love, and unity.
