From the late 1970s onward, German musician and rock ’n’ roll superstar Herman Rarebell, known for such infamous hits such as “No One Like You,” “Rock you like a Hurricane” and “Wind of Change.”
Mr. Rarebell is most famous for playing the drums for the popular German rock band, The Scorpions as he also co-wrote several of the bands infamous songs like, “Falling in Love,” “Another Piece of Meat,” and “Passion Rules the Game.”
Mr. Rarebell is a musician, songwriter and record producer that composed the lyrics for numerous popular songs including, “Rock you like a Hurricane,” “Arizona” and “Blackout.”
In a 2021 interview with Classic Rock Magazine, Mr. Rarebell was quoted by saying, “The band never mentions me in interviews which I find ridiculous.”
There is also a 2015 documentary titled, “Forever and a Day” that was directed by Katja von Garnier covering the rock band The Scorpions that has received a lot of positive feedback from fans.
Why did you become a musician?
It was in my heart and soul, being able to bring happiness to so many people. I was 12 years old when I was attending a wedding that my parents took me to and I noticed the dance band and was inspired to become a musician, I practiced the drums 8-10 hours a day.
What was your favorite performance with the Scorpions?
Madison Square Gardens, I had always dreamed of playing in the U.S.
Do you have a favorite quote?
Read the bible, Thou shall not kill. Don’t go against the laws of God, humans are destroying this planet and the bible clearly tells us how to live and we don’t obey it.
What are your current ambitions or goals?
I am turning 73 years old this year and am hoping to live another 20 years and be healthy, I appreciate the simple things. I want to live and fulfill everything in my life.
When did you first start playing the drums?
I was 12 years old; my mother would give me $20 a month and I would spend it all on drums.
Do you have any favorite hobbies?
Playing the drums, I do go out on the lake and have a boat that I enjoy going out on.
What is your favorite food?
Vegetables and all kinds of fruit, I love blueberries and strawberries. I am a vegetarian.
Would you ever consider dating a fan?
No, not necessarily. I would only consider dating someone I like.
Who’s the most remarkable person that you have ever met?
I am not sure; I am very open to compromise and other people's points of view.
Do you have a favorite band or musician?
Led Zeppelin
Do you have a favorite author or book?
Paramahansa Yogananda, I also like the prophecies of Edgar Cayce.
What’s been your most frightening experience that you’ve encountered on stage or touring?
Nothing, There is nothing to be afraid of.
What has been your most favorite place to visit and why?
I have 2 homes, one in Brighton, England and one in Munich, these are my favorite places.
Describe the perfect day, what would you be doing?
In the morning I meditate and think about things.

What do you want your legacy to be?
I am happy with my life and that I have made millions of people happy with my music, people may not even remember me 300 years from now.
